The STA In-flight Programmes Manager has the responsibility for supporting the management a Global Team of Engineers responsible for the delivery of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) through the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
In addition, they will have responsibility to maintain relationships with Key Stakeholders in Purchasing, Product Engineering and the various Programme Teams to ensure transparency of work towards PSW.
This role is specifically associated with those Programmes that will not use CCDS as the fundamental approach to Product Launch.
The role will require frequent travel to supplier facilities in the Central and Eastern Europe as required.
In addition, they will have responsibility to maintain relationships with Key Stakeholders in Purchasing, Product Engineering and the various Programme Teams to ensure transparency of work towards PSW.

- Manage supplier new part development and introduction to support delivery of excellent quality and on time launch of JLR vehicle projects
- Manage productive relationships with internal stakeholder and suppliers represenatives to ensure Quality and delivery targets for PSW are met and all supplier releated issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Support sourcing activities for vehicle components as required to deliver an optimal supply base in line with our Strategic Category Plans
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximise Supplier Technical Assistnace influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy
- Lead and develop the ongoing capability of all team members and associated department processes and activities to maximise efficicency and effectiveness
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Essential:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering gained at a management level
- A proven management track record in a manufacturing or technical environment
- Broad experience of managing external stakeholder and supplier relationsip management
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
- Able to manage and execute complex projects on time
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
- A determined individual, self-driven, committed and results-orientated who works with pace, energy and confidence
- An individual who is able to apply rigour to develop and drive well thought out operational plans, collaborate across functions and combine a short term, pragmatic focus with longer-term Programme delivery requirements
- An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, responds constructively to new ideas and input in a changing business environment
- An individual who is able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
- A sophisticated communicator who is able to communicate directly, clearly and openly
- An understanding of key automotive tools and techniques to include APQP, PPAP, 8D, Practical Problem Solving, Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma
- Engineering back-ground (Process, Quality, Mechanical, Electrical)
- An individual who is comfortable challenging all stakeholders with strong influencing and engagement skills
- An individual who is high personal resilience and handle the daily diversity and complexities of a modern 24 hour high volume manufacturing environment
- A background in Automotive commodity manufacturing and assembly processes
