Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a Transport Operations Developer to our site in Malacky. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and developing IKEA Components transport operational efficiency by analysis and close co-operation with internal and external (Transport Service Providers) stakeholders. Whenever applicable to identify and propose operational changes to gain efficiency improvements for growth of IKEA.
Other responsibilies:
• Securing and monitoring Service Provider´s operational performance in all respects (as defined by relevant KPIs, in relation to capacity, precision, qualitative parameters, claims, safety, etc.); identification, monitoring & implementation of relevant actions
• Analysing and proposing new distributions set-ups in order to secure needed capacity at total lowest cost
• Contributing to effective transport planning by providing inputs for short/mid term forecast. Supporting the tender/other procurement activity's preparation and securing implementation.
• Contributing with local operational and market knowledge (e.g. safety standards).
"Ad hoc" purchasing activities ("purchase out of tender" / "purchase out of agreed frame" / spots): Within the mandate given, contributing to secure capacity in unforeseen situations
• Maintaining, following up and improving Transport Lead-Time
• Communication with internal stakeholders
• Contributing to implementation of innovative approach both internally and at external partners
• Securing and sharing needed industry competence with all relevant functions and active participanting in relevant external forums/ networks in order to be up-to-date with transport trends
• Transport claims - Following up and handling supply quality claims with internal and external partners
• Back up responsibilty within the team

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

University degree in logistics, economics, business administration or relevant working experience

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Excel - Advanced

Experience in the position/sector

At least 3 years work experience in the logistic company

Personality requirements and skills

Knowledge and experience of meeting with external partners
Strong transport background
Good analytical skills, experience with leading the projects
Good communication and presentation skills
