Tax Operations Support Analyst

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Located in Bratislava, Slovakia the Tax Operations Support Analyst have arisen in our soon to be established Tax Center of Excellence missioned with providing critical tax operations support for the following regions/markets:

UK, Ireland & Nordics
Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Greece
France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg + Middle East & Africa
Germany, Austria, Switzerland + Central Eastern Europe
Japan, Greater China & Korea
Australia/New Zealand, South East Asia + India
These positions will report to the Global Tax Center of Excellence Leader and each position will functionally support our Senior Regional Tax Operations Managers who each have coverage and responsibility for one of these regions/markets.

More specifically, the responsibilities and skills for this role will include:

- Provision of quality tax operations support to the global Tax function
- Supporting our Senior Regional Tax Operations Managers with on-going compliance with all taxation laws and regulations within their respective regions, including timely and accurate tax filings and payments, and ensuring appropriate tax positions are adopted
- Working day-to-day with external tax vendors, including ensuring high quality provision to the company of income tax, withholding tax, income tax accounting, transfer pricing, and indirect tax compliance services;
- Review of external vendor work deliverables and output, including review of direct and indirect tax returns and payments, tax accounting computations and reporting, tax positions adopted, etc.
- Working with IBM’s Business Units and Enterprise Support teams to ensure the facilitation and delivery to external vendors of quality data critical for tax compliance execution
- Provision of routine tax advisory support to IBM’s Business Units & Enterprise Support functions
- Providing support in respect of tax authority reviews and audits; and
- Supporting compliance with IBM Tax Controls Framework & Tax Policies and Procedures

Working in a globally integrated tax function with a strong tradition in innovation, you will possess strong teaming and communication skills and apply a collaborative mindset. In addition, you will continuously seek opportunities for process optimization, including identification of process weaknesses and driving solution implementation.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

- The ideal candidate will possess 3+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably with a combination of in-house experience with a large multinational enterprise and relevant Big 4 experience.
- You will have a working knowledge of direct and indirect taxes. Strong communication skills are a prerequisite, with appropriate level English skills.
- The candidate must demonstrate proficient use of technical tools and programs required to perform their responsibilities (such as: MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, etc..), Cognos Analytics and similar tools.
- You will be committed to meeting all deadlines, prioritize workload, and utilize agile processes, methods and tools.
