Mechatronics Engineer

The main aim of this role is to secure that the design of the Plasmabit tool configurations as an integral system composed of mechanical, electronic and electric parts is fully functional within the working environment meeting all performance requirements defined for the particular plasma milling application in the assigned time frame.

The role is responsible for design and/or selection of mechatronic sub-systems and components for the BHA. Moreover, by performing simulations (at least parametric) and reviews this role secures that all mechatronic systems within the milling head(s) are functional and enable planned BHA performance. This role secures and confirms that the designed mechatronic systems and sub-systems used for the BHA will meet the requirements. If necessary, this role activates processes of change management to modify the design in order to secure that it will meet the requirements.

Job Description:
· Owner of detail mechatronic design of the BHA
· Owner of detail mechatronic simulation models for each BHA configuration
· Proactive review of results from assembly and tests of the BHA mechatronic systems
· Proactive participation on risk analysis connected to the BHA functions and operation
· Plans tests and writes test requests related to the overall BHA mechatronic functions and mechatronic sub-systems and components tests
· Secures adequate information flow for the design engineers
