The right fit for our team

Who we are looking for a System Engineer who will be responsible for the technical implementation of our services and the associated quality assurance measures during the service period to our customers in Defence area.

Your main tasks

• Responding to technical enquiries in all service aspects (incident and problem reports, technical issues ...) within the contractually agreed response times. First point of contact for customers with regard to all technical service issues during system lifecycles.
• Documentation and analysis of reported incidents and problems.
• Coordinating and carrying out root cause analyses and remedies.
• Assisting our customers with their technical queries about the operation, configuration and service of the serviced system.
• Designing, planning and technically executing changes and extensions to existing systems (change requests).
• Integrating systems and system components into existing system environments.
• Performing system audits.
• Collaborating with Product Management on designing and extending/improving products.
• Supporting Product Management with continuous product improvement based on experience gained / feedback from customers.
• Support transition of delivery project to support phase as well as building up required know how to support handed over solutions.
• Drafting/updating technical documentation on systems and their interfaces.
• Performing system tests in Vienna and on customers’ premises.
• Site acceptance with customers.
• Coordinating with product development teams and/or development teams on error analysis and troubleshooting.
• Collaborating on verification of technical feasibility and co-design of the system architecture.
• Collecting and analysing product specifications.
• Software engineering – configurations, system build & support.
• Reporting potential technical project risks and opportunities.
• Developing simulations in cooperation with the test department.
• Putting the system into operation.
• Troubleshooting and fault identification during system integration.
• Cooperating with the product management regarding development, expansion/improvement of products.
• Participating on all internal and external areas affected by the project, e.g. documentation, test department.
• Conducting system qualification tests.
• Preparing technical documentation of the system and its interfaces.
• Assembling HW to the rack.

Your know-how and experience

System Engineer is familiar with the following technologies and frameworks:
• Operating systems (Windows/Linux) – installing, administration of services
• Linux – advanced user (debugging, installing and deployment for embedded systems, tailoring your own tools to work in more efficient way)
• Security in Communications – familiar with protocols, encryption and encapsulation
• VOIP (SIP, RTP) - advanced knowledge is required to understand the process of handling in protocols
• Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V) - architecture knowledge
• Relational Database Systems (MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) - basic knowledge
• Networking (LAN, WAN, VLAN), Routing and Switching – basic knowledge
• Authentication and directory services (Active Directory, LDAP) - basic knowledge
• Telecommunications, Radio Networks and Wave propagation - basic knowledge
• English language - proficient in spoken and written communication
• EUROCAE requirements knowledge – advantage to have
• participation on certain projects in Defence area requires to apply for the Security Clearance (level: confidential) issued by National Security Authority
