Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are on the hunt for a talented Cloud Architect to manage our company's cloud architecture and position in cloud environments and help us set up a Cloud Center of Competence.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud. You should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.
Among your responsibilities will be to:
•Lead cultural change for cloud adoption
•Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
•Establish best practices and operating model for cloud computing.
•Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
•Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.
•Select cloud providers and vetting third-party services.
•Offer guidance in infrastructure and application migrations into the cloud.
•Identify cloud architecture solutions and trends to successfully meet our strategic needs.
•Oversee governance and mitigate risks associated with cloud.
•Create business cases, manage budgets and estimate cost

Personality requirements and skills
•Deep knowledge and experience in design, operations and architecture of cloud infrastructure, platforms and applications
•High-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
•Infrastructure automation through DevOps CICD pipelines
•Configuration management e.g. CloudFormation, Chef & Puppet
•Good knowledge of operating systems: Preference is a Linux based operating system (Red Hat) but prior experience as an administrator or architect in other operating systems is also helpful.
•You also need to be familiar with OS concepts and the pros and cons of using different operating systems.
•Good understanding of networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS. Familiarity with networking concepts is before pursuing a role as a cloud architect.
•Computer Programming Languages: At least a minimal understanding of a programming/scripting language is necessary.
•Security: Security in the cloud is important, and consequently, a high-level understanding of key security concepts is a must for a Cloud Architect. Knowledge of basic security concepts is necessary.
•…current certifications as a Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or other related certifications will be beneficial
