Job description, responsibilities and duties
The IT Software Asset Management Consultant is responsible for the content of license compliance and inventory reports and reviewing these reports with the client and providing recommendations regarding the resolution of non-compliant software licenses. Provides software licensing subject matter expertise across multiple DXC functions.
•Provides software license compliance status to DXC business leaders, accounts and customer representatives.
•Reviews software license compliance status with customer representatives and DXC business leaders and provides feedback and advice to the customer addressing non-compliant license situations. This includes the identification of spare software licenses that can be applied to resolve a non-compliant situation.
•Reviews initial version of software inventory reports with customer representatives and DXC business leaders during client on-boarding to verify scope of contracted Software IT Asset Management services.
•Reviews inventory reports with customer representatives and DXC business leaders and makes recommendations regarding additional software publishers and titles where license compliance status reporting is appropriate.
•Based on customer and DXC license compliance reviews, identifies required modifications to software counters and software license and installation records.
•Co-ordinates third party requests to perform software license compliance audits
•Establishes and develops relationships with DXC and client procurement functions to obtain details of new and modified software agreement and maintenance contracts.
•Attends Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to provide software license expertise to determine correct licensing requirements to implement a change or release.
•Analyses new and modified software agreement and maintenance contracts and determines impact to client license position and software counters. Identifies best licensing options for the client.
•Is responsible to oversee and coordinate the account SAM team service delivery
