Linux/VMware Engineer for Cloud Services

Job Description

•As an Unix/Linux engineer for Cloud services, you take over responsibility for the delivery of several Unix/Linux based servers with focus on continuous operations, project and change management.
•The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production servers in your responsibility, to execute the implementation/optimizations in the customer’s infrastructure and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
•This includes the participation in technical projects, consulting, proactive capacity and availability management.
•You will be member of Unix/Linux 3rd line engineers working under supervision of Delivery Lead to achieve defined targets (SLA and SLO).

Main responsibilities

•Provide technical support and leadership in a complex mission critical infrastructure environments.
•Ensure that services under your responsibility are delivered according to the Service description (SLO and SLA).
•Closely cooperate with other technology teams to establish implementation plans for changes, projects and backup&recovery.
•Ensure components supported are maintained, optimized and used effectively.
•Is responsible for full cycle development, deployment to go-live, live phase and end-of-life.
•Ensure compliance with internal technology standards and solutions.
•Act as the change planner and/or change implementer.
