Job description, responsibilities and duties

• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the solving the customer needs including identification of packaging request, proposing packaging solution, supporting into implementation of solution inside & outside at customer.
• Well understand the paper & other packaging development & production process include foams, flexibles, bags, ect
• Collaborate with customers to achieve results which support substantial value to the customers’ business
• Drive the cost-efficient packaging development, tailor-made packaging solutions based on customer needs, in order to fulfil promises to the customers defined in the Customer Journey:
o Increase Sales
o Decrease Cost
o Manage Risk
• Presentation of created packaging solution & clear communication of the values to the customers
• Facilitate & validate packaging solution which enables to solve the customers’ problems & delivering business growth for us.

• Well competences in packaging technology. Competent user of pack IT systems (Artios CAD, CAPE, performance calculation, trial assessment, ect).
• Well experience at packaging production factories, FMCG or industrial factories, service centres.
• Have proven project management skills.
• Execute pro-active projects/Workshops to be run within the Design Department
• Work closely with Sales and Marketing departments for improving Design awareness and spread knowledge.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and suppliers to challenge the capability, product quality and level for developed solutions.
• Maintain a close cooperation with our Impact Centres which is essential for Retail business.
• Actively maintain a good communication with other Design Departments and PackRight Centres in the region and across DS Smith.

• Effective communicator with including presentation skills. Listens to others, asks questions and can articulate own views clearly.
• Ability to define objectives and to monitor progresses in a systematic manner.
• International oriented; eager to work together with DS Smith colleagues internationally.
• Understands the packaging manufacturing processes
• Understands the supply chain and the demands it creates for packaging solutions
• Understands the packaging line operation of our customers
• Has insights in the Retail market and drivers in Packaging
• Experience from the Packaging Industry or likewise
• Project Management experience.
• Able to organise and lead Customer or Internal Design Workshops.
• Able to express Design ideas (desired by sketching if possible).
• Understands the importance and impact of Design (colours & shape).
• Adequate experience in the technical skill base, e.g. understanding of structural designing and tools as well as the graphical designing and workflow and tools
• Experience from working in global organization.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
