As a Database Administrator you are expected to be able to deliver solutions based on Oracle and DB2 RDBMS (relational database management system).

Position Overview
As a Database Administrator you are expected to be able to deliver solutions based on Oracle and DB2 RDBMS (relational database management system). Maintain, troubleshoot and optimize these solutions. Provide the required guidance and expertise in choosing the right platform and communicate with the customer about the positives and drawbacks of each solution.
For Senior candidate we can offer the option to work from home.

You are responsible for:
• Installation, upgrades, maintenance jobs/activities, backup and recovery strategies, monitor and fix database issues.
• 2nd and 3rd support with focus on production environment, deployment, performance, tuning and support of Oracle database infrastructure.
• Support of UHD: documentation of known issues, Providing of Tools
• Participation in 3rd level project support aimed on improvement of existing Oracle infrastructure.
• Provide 2nd level support on-call duty in non-business hours.
• 2nd level support and handling of the Incidents and Change and Problem-Management
• Documentation updates
• Short-term (usually a 1-2 weeks) business trips to Germany

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Minimum 3 year experience as DBA with Oracle RDBMS and 1 year experience with DB2 (versions 10g,11g,12c,18c,19c)
• Extensive experience in OLTP and OLAP relational databases is must
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration for purposes of installing, troubleshooting and maintaining Oracle RDBMS and DB2
• Experience with Oracle RAC on Linux
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS tuning, patching and installation
• Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, PL/SQL
• Scripting experience for Oracle and Linux
• Backup and recovery using DB2 backup and restore commands
• Ability to use export/import, DB2move, Load utility
• DB2 node directory / catalog configuration
• Knowledge of IT-Security & ITIL (ideally ITIL Foundation certification)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to work in a multicultural team
• Working independently and service-oriented
• Fluency spoken and written English
• German language skills are a plus
• Self-motivated demonstrated good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
