The National Sales Manager, reporting to General Manager CZ&SK, is also a member of Leadership team. The right candidate will be driving the development of Trade Marketing strategy in SK and to contribute to above market projects in region.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Contribute to the overall business strategy and plan by integrating the brand & consumer segment strategies into the TM&D strategy
  • Develop, refine and manage the implementation of the route to market strategy and plan: Distribution & sales structure / model, resources and budget requirements, trading terms, application of performance-based contracts, credit risk and customer pricing guidelines & Approach to implement trade and brand programmes within POS
  • Develop and refine the trade coverage plan
  • Manage trade programme development & implementation for customer segments, Horeca and KA
  • Monitor and control non-trade brand expenditure and secondary supply chain costs, and drive trade and account profitability
  • Coordinate the development of regional demand planning by trade area
  • Ensure effectiveness & efficiency of secondary supply chain, with a returns and freshness policy applied across the business
  • Ensure that objectives in terms of availability, visibility, volume, margin, quality and customer price of products are achieved
  • Ensure Trade area works in accordance to BAT’s International Marketing Standards and all Corporate guidelines, actively contribute to corporate and brand advocacy
  • Ensure that Trade area is well trained and motivated in order that trade marketing and distribution representation is superior to the competition in respect of both core and added value services
  • Agree goals and KPIs for direct reports and track ongoing results
  • Analyse BAT and competitors’ business performance within strategic accounts
  • Champion innovation in trade programmes development and distribution systems in order to achieve competitive advantage

Business accountabilities:
  • Direct management of KA projects and KA distribution: Cordination of strategic KA projects via KA team from preparation, implementation to evaluation. Contribution to the best possible distribution, availability and sales of strategic BAT brands through execution of KA plans. Avoiding out of stock situation in all distribution channels through proper stock management, managing of implementation of Account plans and work by key account partner
  • Managing of supplies and data outcomes: Management of goods flow process including sales evidence by customer
  • Resource management: Effectively manage resources for realized projects/activities by strategic importance for company performance. Alignment of activities in terms of EU directives, company standards, and internal guidelines (contracts, account plans, etc.)
  • Budget control – management of KA budgets including evaluation and reallocation of resources in accordance with company strategy (per customer, per activity), budgeting, profitability, ROI file, etc.
  • Business relationships with customers and external communication: Maximize effort and effects while negotiating with customer, listen attentively and understand customer needs. Always behave in accordance to company codex and contribute to building up excellent business relationship. Proactively communicate within BAT and participate in sharing information on BAT international level
  • Proactively searching for innovation: Actively come with innovation ideas to support and improve working processes and projects in terms of essential changes leading to expansion of BAT brands distribution, increase of sales, etc. on the Slovak market and a specially in critical sales areas or channels.

People Accountabilities:
  • Ensure that all administrative activities related to Managing Team, performance improvement, time-off etc are performed and followed OTIF
  • Ensure that appropriate performance objectives are in place for all employees within the team and measured against targets
  • Provide timely feedback and clarity on performance standards whilst coaching and developing performance of the team
  • Work safety responsibility - responsible for his personal safety and that of all personnel under his or her authority, including others who may be affected by the company's activities. Ensure all employees and sub-contractors are suitably trained/competent to carry out the prescribed task and that the necessary licenses/certificates of competence are in force and appropriate. Ensure appropriate Risk Assessments on activities within the department are performed, ensuring that the all premises and processes are safe.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • University degree
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Minimum of 5 years FMCG segment in Account Management or other managerial role
  • Marketing knowledge: comprehensive understanding and experience of managing all elements of the marketing mix, above / below the line, price, promotion, shelf space, product (range), research, space management.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all inter-related company functions, e.g. distribution, credit control, customer service, CORA, Legal, human resource and advertising agencies
  • First class analytical, interpersonal, communication (oral & written), negotiation and planning skills
  • Ability to successfully negotiate, influence and present at Senior Management level
  • Ability to think both strategically and conceptually
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Ability to analyse problems, recommend solutions and action plans within organizational policy
  • Written and spoken fluency in English.
