Our Global Compute & Storage Operations organization is currently seeking a dynamic and talented individual to fill the role of UNIX/Linux System Administrator located in our Bratislava, Slovakia office. • Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers running UNIX/Linux based operating systems
• Monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance
• Perform system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system availability and reliability
• Diagnose system issues, resolve outages, and perform root cause analysis
• Design, develop, recommend, and implement new or revised system software, configuration utilities, and automated processes, as necessary.
• Provides technical expertise for system transitions, migrations, and consolidations
• Perform SAN maintenance and troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting of TCP/IP networking within the OS and network layer
• Act as an escalation point for next level support
• Support of web, database, and application servers
• Support of EMEA and APAC training lab infrastructure
• Work closely with internal customers to understand their processes and requirements and how it impacts your team
• Collaborate with peers from around the world to ensure customers are provided world-class support

• Experience with Linux required
• Experience with AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, VMware, and Windows a plus
• Experience with Cisco switches and routers
• Advanced knowledge of PERL scripting language
• Shell scripting (sh/ksh)
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment
• Ability to understand the technical design/architecture of computer systems, networks, and applications
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and without supervision
• Fluent use of English written and spoken
• Clear and concise communication
• Flexibility to work nights/weekends as required
Education and qualifications:
• High School Graduate
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with Linux (RedHat mandatory, SuSE & Ubuntu desirable)
• Experience with AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, VMware, and Windows a plus
• Advanced knowledge of PERL scripting language
• CCNA or CCNP certification desirable
• Fluent English skills (written and verbal)
• Good organization and attention to detail
• A logical mind-set and a passion for problem solving and teamwork

• Experience within the IT, telecommunications, and/or networking industry is desirable
