Job description, responsibilities and duties

On this position, you can use your operations and networking background combined with creative and independent thinking. The role is based on analysis of complex circuit/networking issues and routing problems. You will increase your knowledge in network design and maintenance, and an overall understanding of the IP transport principles. The role require also understanding of all emerging technologies and network security policies and standards.

Roles and responsibilities:

Incident and change management in 24x7 environment on AT&T Global IP backbone and D2 cloud based services.

Personality requirements and skills

Candidates applying for this position will need to possess a very broad technical knowledge and understanding of large scale, LAN/WAN networks. An advanced understanding of OSI layer 3 with focus on OSPF, BGP, MPLS, LDP and Multicast is required. In addition to layer 3 the candidate must have extensive knowledge of layers 1 and 2 of the OSI model. They must have experience in working on circuits from T1 up to OC768. A solid background in digital/SONET facilities provisioning and troubleshooting is also required. The candidate must have extensive experience working on Cisco platforms including 6500, 7500, 12000, and CRS. Experience working with Juniper routers including M320, T640, MX960 and T1600 is also required.

Education and qualifications:
- knowledge of Cisco CCNA
- knowledge of Juniper JNCIA or equivalent knowledge
- programming/scripting skills are advantages as well as virtualization/SDN knowledge.
