JOB DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst – US Outbound/International candidate to join the Tax Team. The candidate will focus on global country-by-country reporting and compliance based in Bratislava, Slovakia. This position will be responsible for researching and understanding local country legislation, modeling potential tax legislation and OECD BEPS initiatives. This role will also support the US and international tax controversy teams on audits and the international tax team on the compliance and reporting aspects of projects.

Primary job duties include:
· Understand and operate complex excel spreadsheet models
· Research and understand potential tax legislation and participate in modeling different scenarios
· Prepare annual country-by-country notification filings.
· Drive process improvements and coordinate with Tax Technology Team to facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring and internal reporting calculations.
· Support US and international tax controversy teams on tax audits
· Management of junior tax professionals and outside service providers

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
• 5+ years of direct tax experience including relevant experience with international income tax compliance/reporting
• Working knowledge of US, IFRS and local GAAP reporting requirements
• Ability to manage and manipulate large amounts of data using Excel and/or other database
programs


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
·• Certification as CA/CPA preferred
• Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
• Strong project management skills
• Strong tax operational background and ability to drive process improvements
• Hard working, quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism
• Excellent knowledge of US taxation with experience in transfer pricing
• Experience using Corptax tax preparation software
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Experience with Essbase and Oracle Financial Applications helpful
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
