Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
o Administration and maintenance of MS SQL server databases (installations, upgrades, administration of databases/users/maintenance plans, capacity planning, configuration, troubleshooting)
o Backup/restore of databases
o Database maintenance – datafile consistency/database health checks
o MS SQL server patching
o MS SQL server HA features – configuring and maintenance (log shipping, replications/mirroring)
o Server health, performance and DB monitoring (understanding SQL Server Schedulers, Workers and Tasks)
o Understanding SQL services (Reporting, Integration, Analyses, Broker, SharePoint)
o Writing scripts T-SQL, PowerShell
o Security administration (logins, server roles, credentials, audits, data encryption)
o Supporting application teams
o Documentation maintenance
o Deployments of application packages (MS SQL)
