Job description, responsibilities and duties

Responsible for the conceptual design, architecture and the technical solution using multiple technologies and corresponding vendors. Guarantees realization, implementation and functionality of the developed solution.

The role includes consultancy for potential customer in presales period, analysis of customer demands, conversion of the requirements into a technical specification, evaluation of production costs. Additionally steers the international team of experts in order to deliver solution and to define the SLA’s specifications including the transition and transformation phase to handover solution to support/operational delivery units.

Key accountabilities
• Design and optimize IT architectures and analyze functional and technical requirements for software, platforms and/or infrastructure for private and business customers, so that IT solutions and services such as 5G network slicing, Open RAN, IoT , Industry 4.x or mobile gaming can be implemented quickly, agilely and innovatively.
• Design a holistic target picture, taking into account overarching business requirements/implications with a view to sustainability
• Architect the entire interaction of components or system functions from the network to the customer touchpoint
• Development and implementation of the architecture concepts, methods for automation, optimization and standardization in product development and services to satisfy DTAG efficiency and automation requirements
• Identify innovations in technology fields and actively help to implement them within the group and in industry
• Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions to assure integrity of the architecture
• Product/service development accompanied by you along the entire development process (lifecycle) and provide comprehensive advice
• Control architecture and design activities, carry out trade-off analyzes and drive decisions on the best possible structure of IT services
• Define solution concepts (at feature, application, data and interface level) and represent them in overarching architecture committees and ensure the flow of information between close architecture and development teams
• Architectural guidelines are followed and targeted communication between technical requirements and development takes into account the architectural guidelines.
• Determine how systems and technologies should change in the future, migrating to an environment which would optimally support the current and future product model in a cost effective manner
• Work with vendor on correcting critical product defects. Propose and present the DTAG interest in the future development of the product
• Develop new concepts and products including roadmaps for the future of the product, covering the applications as well as the technologies in the infrastructure considering market trends
• Act as key technical lead to solve and coordinate activities across related technologies in/outside own team, steer international teams as participants on the projects

Other criteria or requirements
• Broad and deep knowledge about state-of-the-art technologies and products.
• Expert knowledge and experience with ICT environment verified by professional level certification exams preferably from multiple vendors
• Experience with enterprise architectural frameworks, service oriented architecture and building architecture roadmaps
• Ability to establish, implement and enforce appropriate standards to meet business requirements
• Complex knowledge about whole organizational structure, practical use of tools, KPI’s and connection with QM
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation for complex solutions, and excellent ability to analyze and document technical and non-technical requirements and to structure them in the architecture
• Good IT processes knowledge corresponding to an industry standard certification
• Hands-on experience in defining & developing complex network environments
• Excellent knowledge of software architecture and development experience in mobile, cloud and web applications
• Team player and intercultural experience in near/offshore projects
• Outstanding experience in working with IT development teams & in classic and agile forms of cooperation
• Experience in the independent and reliable planning and control of new topics, also in the environment of virtual and/or international teams
• Excellent experience in agile methods (Scrum and SAFe)
