Job description, responsibilities and duties

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a new automotive Company in the Nitra region. We are hiring for the position of Site Environment and Energy Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide environmental expertise on energy, water, air, waste, materials, contaminated land
• Interact with Construction team and ensure best practice is implemented during these initial design and construction activities
• Act as a local point of contact during permit activities. This may be to support public interaction initially but subsequently maintaining business compliance
• Engage with the Corporate Environmental team, and drive delivery of site environmental compliance & implementation
• Planning and organising time to co-ordinate and attend meetings to support sustainability integration
• Fulfil the role of gatekeeper for site development projects from a compliance perspective, ensuring processes are followed
• Engage with the corporate energy team, and drive delivery of corporate targets into the site
• Forecast energy requirements to deliver the plant vehicle volume targets, and develop the plant level energy budget
• Develop environmental teams in the plant to support overall environmental delivery
• Report compliance and energy management to senior personnel for comparison with other business activities

Personality requirements and skills

• Environmental Legislation – EU and Local Slovakian
• Construction activities awareness
• Demonstrable experience of initiating Environment Management Systems
• Thorough and wide knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues, ideally within the automotive industry or comparable industry, with experience and knowledge of construction activities
• Able to provide training to improve knowledge of the wider team on site
• Driving change through implementation of best practice at design stages
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, excellent PC skills
• Degree in Science, Environment or Engineering with 10 years experience in a relevant field
• Business proficient in English
