Zurich is looking for a Data Scientist Manager to join the Predictive Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) team and support Zurich North America business. This team is responsible for delivering risk insights that improve business profitability and help our customers better understand and protect against risk. You will take a leading role in solving business challenges by applying advanced analytical techniques to complex data sets.

As a Data Scientist Manager, you will:
• Lead a team of 5 analysts to partner with end-users to solve business challenges by applying advanced analytical techniques to complex data sets that deliver financial results.
• Understand and structure business challenges for insight generation.
• Scan a broad spectrum of internal and external, structured and unstructured data sources to define the data needed to test the hypotheses.
• Generate distinctive risk insights.
• Monitor models for accuracy, execution and benefit.
• Train and mentor other members of the Predictive Analytics Center of Excellence.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous education and personal development and share knowledge with team members and business partners.

Requirements for the employee

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

 • Experience leading predictive analytics projects of varying complexity leading to business impact.
• Advanced business problem solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to translate technical results for business audiences in a clear and concise manner.
• Understanding of statistical and predictive modeling techniques such as generalized linear modeling, decision trees, association rules, clustering, regression, machine learning, probability networks, neural networks and text mining.
• Experience with programming and data tools such as R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, SQL Server, Hadoop, Hive, Pig etc.
