Our opportunity
 

We are looking for a senior Business Intelligence Application Developer who will be responsible for improving existing data analysis solutions and setting up new ones for our international clients. This person will be analysing clients' business challenges, evaluating suitable solutions based on data analytics and data visualizations. There will be close collaboration with co-located teams across Europe in order to align in the areas of business analyses, development, testing, and support. The individual will be trained and learn new BI solution/technologies.

 

 
Your role
  
As a Business Intelligence Application Developer your main responsibilities will involve:

 

•Evaluate options and translate business requirements into technical specifications
•Develop and maintain innovative Business Intelligence applications and reports
•Perform application/report code review and provide best practices for data modelling, application design and development, provide technical product assistance and tuning to meet customer performance and functional requirements
•Align with the release management as developer, following the delivery model of the organization
•Produce ad-hoc reports as per business requirement
•Provide production support, i.e. handling of defects, ETL jobs to ensure 2nd and 3rd level Support
•Consult, initiate and share best practice within BI technical community
•Communicate and coordinate with external service providers
•Train end users on the use of BI applications platform
•Develop and organize training materials, visual aids, and other education materials

 

Your Skills and Experience
 
As a Business Intelligence Application Developer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

 

•Degree in IT or Business or equivalent discipline with an IT focus work experience and technical training. Masters' degree is an advantage.
•Minimum 5 years experience within a known BI solution (QlikSense, Microstrategy, Tableau, Business Object, SAP BW or similar) development and system administration

•Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining large enterprise business intelligence and data warehousing solutions

•Experience with all aspects of data warehousing, including data modelling, integration, and OLAP
•Working knowledge of SQL to perform DBMS retrievals - Microsoft SQL server preferred

•Strong experience in the delivery, development and maintenance of IT Applications

•Excellent knowledge in server/batch run setup

•Excellent knowledge in DWH concepts

•Ability to work alone and as part of a global team
•Ability to communicate with and influence others within IT and business groups
•Knowledge in Dynamic Delivery Model (Agile/Scrum) would be an asset
•English: Excellent English skills (written & spoken), German and French would be advantageous

•Business know-how in Insurance: Understanding of Insurance business. Knowledge with policy and claims systems is an advantage. CRM, SAP FI-CO, SAP FS-CD
