Our opportunity

 

 

You will join the Risk Modeling Platform (RMP) Team, part of the Enterprise Data, Analytics & Architecture Function within Group Operations & Technology. The RMP is Zurich’s centralized platform for integrating and consolidating Zurich’s risk quantification and modeling processes. The RMP hosts a number of bespoke and complex risk models including solvency and risk based capital models. In the role of Application Support Specialist you will join a dynamic and agile team in a technical support  role. You will act as a service desk manager, handling IT issues for both  the RMP user-base and the RMP DevOps Team. You will also be responsible for maintaining  the core RMP knowledge base (Wiki) and the administration of the various change management tools used by the RMP. Depending on experience or desire to broaden your experience, you may also play a part in the testing, documentation and even development of RMP systems.

 

 

 Your role

 

 

As an Application Support Specialist, your main responsibilities will involve:

 

* Providing comprehensive and expanded first and second level help desk support for IT incidents, problems and service requests.

* Conducting problem determination, and resolving incidents involving highly complex issues using documented procedures and available tools.

* Updating documented procedures and tools (e.g. the central RMP knowledge base  - wiki) based on in depth experience and knowledge gained from actual use incorporating these updates into revised versions of the procedures and tools.

* Develop and implement continuous service improvement initiatives, provides service desk performance reporting and analysis.

* Administrative Management of RMP Change Management & DevOps tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).

* Involvement in RMP System Integration Testing, documentation and  even some development.

 

 Your Skills and Experience

 

 

We are expecting a highly motivated, well-organised person, with strong  customer engagement skills and the ability to manage and develop a large  technical knowledge base.  Since tasks are expected to extend beyond the service desk to administration of software tools, and involvement in wider aspects of system development,(e.g. testing & system documentation), we are looking for someone with potential to contribute in a broad range of technical areas related to development of a complex software system.   

 

 

Your skills and experience will ideally include:

 

* University level education within a scientific / technology related discipline.
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role is desirable.
* Strong digital document editing skills, with the ability to organize a complex knowledge base in a highly structured, consistent and efficient framework. 
* Effective communication, presentation and relationship management skills at different levels and in a multicultural environment.
* Ability to work effectively in a global organization, in a small team, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written).
