Our opportunity

 

Zurich is looking for a Microsoft VBA developer to join a team of (primarily MS Excel) application developers involved in the build and maintenance of data capture and pricing tools in Global Corporate business.You will be responsible for requirements capture, analysis, full lifecycle development and documentation of application solutions using MS Excel/VBA, working with various stakeholders including solution architects, business analysts, business customers, a team lead and IT management contacts.

 

As a developer in a core team, working on very high profile application development, with a constant pipeline of work, you will be expected to be self-sufficient as well as an active team player.  You will form part of an informal technical design authority in this space, contributing to broader detailed design decisions in the application space, and in integrated applications.

 

 
Your role
 
As a Developer VBA your main responsibilities will involve

 

* Self-sufficient requirements capture and conversion into technical specifications
* Full lifecycle development of customer facing applications in MS Excel - development through to testing and liaising with IT team and suppliers as appropriate for deployments
* Development and maintenance of developed tools and training materials
* Design workshop and liaison with related projects and programs in Global Corporate IT
* Provide design authority and leadership in Excel development patterns
* Provide subject matter expertise for the pricing tools, architecture and design insights to support strategic developments and road-mapping
* Maintain current status reporting to VBA development team lead
* Build and grow relationships with related-application BA and technical resources
* Liaise with Underwriter business customers as required
* Ensure compliance of solutions by engaging with Zurich Global security, risk, IT and Architecture teams
* Third-party supplier engagement as requires

 

Your Skills and Experience

 
As a Developer VBA  your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
 
* 3 or more years of VBA application development in a commercial environment
* High complexity pricing and data management application development
* General SQL database querying, Visual Studio and other development toolsets
* Development of simple spreadsheet and complex VBA solutions, Excel Add-ins, Web-services
* Data management concepts and processes desirable

 
 
Additional Information
 
* Primary work location is Bratislava.

* The role requires occasional travel to UK and Switzerland

* Suitable Microsoft certification(s) preferred.
