Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a member of IGRS Actuarial, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial, regulatory and risk reporting.

Located in Bratislava, a charming historical capital city in the heart of Europe, you will work in close collaboration with the IGRS Actuarial team in Switzerland. Your contribution will be fundamental to the continued success - and ambitious growth plans - of the International Group Risk Solutions and related Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions businesses, which together provide group life and disability protection to multinational clients in diverse locations across the globe.
In this permanent position, you will have a unique opportunity to build an expertise in IFRS reserving and economic valuation techniques, and extend it further to support regulatory reporting under the different – and developing – regimes in Hong Kong, Dubai, Switzerland and Luxembourg. You will be a part of a team instrumental in maintaining robust, disciplined and efficient reporting and control processes as the foundation for business insight in a rapidly changing environment.

Your main responsibilities will include selected items from the following:

• Support timely and accurate delivery of reserves on IFRS, local statutory and SST bases; EV/NBV; sensitivities, risk analysis, and other related regularly reported items
• Support the regular assumptions setting process, including analysis, related controls, documentation and process enhancements
• Support maintenance, development and efficiency improvements for related actuarial processes, systems - including link to administration and reserving databases - and documentation
• Support assigned projects and investigations

Personality requirements and skills

Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
• Part-qualified actuary with at least 2-3 years’ experience working with life actuarial models, though motivated candidates with a master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, physics, engineering or a similarly numerate subject will also be considered
• Experience of IFRS, local statutory reserving and economic valuation techniques (any or all of Embedded Value / Swiss Solvency Test / Solvency II) advantageous
• Exposure to project management techniques advantageous
• Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral)
• Experience working in an English speaking role
• Experience of reinsurance, risk analysis and pricing advantageous
• Commitment to adhering to deadlines with strong controls, filing coding standards and documentation discipline
• Eager to keep learning and developing, and to complete professional qualifications as an actuary
• Highly cooperative, flexible, and enthusiastic team-player with strong interpersonal, problem-solving and listening skills, committed to a positive, collaborative work environment
• Comfortable working in a large multinational organization
