Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Proactively engaging with business partners to materialize new ideas into projects and contributing in driving more business through leveraging BI & Analytics, building and maintaining strong relationships with various business partners / project stakeholders
• Understanding customers’ objectives to define the appropriate engagement model and prepare the implementation proposal
• Managing end-to-end solution delivery from idea formulation to hand-over to Service Management
• Providing full transparency regarding the project / program execution in terms of budget, timelines, scope and quality status
• Ensuring completion of all required quality gates across the project portfolio
• Managing and optimizing available resources across the project portfolio
• Further developing the project governance process for BI & Analytics with the objective to maximize solution quality and project success in close collaboration with the solution architecture and service and platform management teams
• Refining delivery framework based on Agile / Scrum methodology as a core engagement model for BI & Analytics initiatives
• Ensuring successful transition into service management

Personality requirements and skills

• Prior experience working in a financial services environment desirable, preferably insurance
• Project / Program Management training and certification (e.g. PMP / PgMP / SDLC / ZPMF) preferred
• Over 6 years of experience in project and program management
• Over 5 years of relevant BI experience, with strong technical background in one or several of the following stacks: Microstrategy, SAP BW, IBM DB2(BLU), Informatica Powercenter
• Proven people leadership experience and ability to drive teams for highly effective delivery leveraging multi-source staffing models including internal and external partners
• Experience in agile delivery methods (e.g. Scrum) preferred
• Effective communication, presentation and relationship management skills at different levels and in a multicultural environment
• Ability to work effectively in a global organization, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity
• Insurance industry understanding would be highly beneficial, preferably understanding of Zurich business
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, Databases and IT management tools, e.g. PlanningIT, Remedy, ServiceNow
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), other languages are beneficial
