Job description, responsibilities and duties

This Buyer Indirect position will be based in Bratislava. Key responsibility is to procure and manage delivery of services in Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain and Italy.
 
 
Roles/Responsibilities
 
  • Management of the delivery of services for our global travel agencies, airlines, car rentals and hotels (regional or  global as designated)

  • Works in a matrix organization where he/she may be called upon to solve non -routine problems 

  • Supplier Management - Manages interpersonal relationships with supplier staff - uses program measurements and reporting to gain improvements

  • Track cost savings on specific commodities – air, car, hotel, TMC as applicable (via Savings Tracker and/or CI tools)

  • Manage preferred TMC relationship ensuring SLA are maintained

  • Review of new products and tools offered by agencies; Implementations of such tools as deemed appropriate in alignment with Global Travel Buyer and Manager

  • Alignment with key internal stakeholders (VIP Admins, BU Directors, etc.) to ensure quality service

  • As needed negotiate with travel suppliers (interact with Treasury) as applicable(ex. TMC, Car rental, Taxi & Hotels) – to deliver savings & service improvements

  • Consolidation/reduction of vendors and spend that adhere to company policy

  • Monitor and increase usage of YFAI preferred supplier programs through communication and training

  • Collaborate and influence:

  • Finance: to standardize invoicing from Travel suppliers & implement E-invoicing (EMEA)

  • Purchasing: to set up corporate suppliers in vendor systems

  • Security: to support implementation of Travel agencies to ISOS

  • HR – to train Yanfeng employees on Travel policy & booking procedures

  • Regular communication and updates to travel community

  • Ensure travel policy is adhered to and followed

Manage additional ad hoc responsibilities/projects as they occur

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Job Requirements:
 
  • Technical Skills - Ability to use business systems effectively.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, SAP, SRM. Ability to perform routine data analysis.  Ability to perform process flow analysis

  • Minimum 3-4 Years of Progressive Purchasing Experience or Equivalent Business Experience;  Bachelor’s Degree Business in Preferred or Equivalent Business Experience

  • Communication Skills - Able to communicate effectively in a variety of situations ranging from one-on-one sessions to larger team meetings across some levels of supplier and YFAI organizations

  • Decision Making - Able to make routine decisions independently and present action plans for non-routine problem situations

  • Business Acumen - Able to develop relationships and negotiate agreements in support of strategies and objectives

  • Continuous program improvement; identifying areas of opportunities

  • Worked in an international environment with exposure to different cultures

  • Result orientated working – ability to set goals with company objectives

  • Analytical skills to solve daily issues and make smart decisions 

  • Independent negotiator

  • Ability to build trust and lasting relationships with key stakeholders

  • Fluent English and German language advantage

  • Flexibility to travel (app. 15% of working time)

  • Fed-term contract / labour lease (maternity leave coverage)
