Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
In this role, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of technical BI platform projects, from demand initiation to transition into stable operations. You will play a key role in the demand collection and prioritization in close collaboration with platform- and service managers as well as in alignment with enterprise architects.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively engaging with service managers to materialize new ideas into projects and contributing in driving more business through leveraging BI & Analytics, building and maintaining strong relationships with various business partners / project stakeholders
- Understanding customers’ objectives to define the appropriate engagement model and prepare the implementation proposal
- Managing end-to-end solution delivery from idea formulation to hand-over to operations
- Providing full transparency regarding the project execution in terms of budget, timelines, scope, resources and quality status
- Ensuring completion of all required quality gates across the project portfolio
- Managing and optimizing available resources across the project portfolio
- Further contributing to the project governance process for BI Platforms with the objective to maximize solution quality and project success in close collaboration with the architecture teams (enterprise architecture / solution architecture) and service- and platform managers

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor Degree, Master degree or Technical Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working in a financial services environment desirable, preferably insurance
- Over 6 years of experience in IT project and/or programme management
- Project / Program Management training and certification (e.g. PMP / PgMP / SDLC / ZPMF) preferred
- Experience in agile delivery methods (e.g. Scrum) preferred
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), other languages are beneficial
KNOWLEDGE:
- Over 5 years of relevant BI experience, with strong technical background in one or several of the following stacks: Microstrategy, SAP BW, IBM DB2(BLU), Informatica Powercenter, Business Objects, Microstrategy
- Insurance industry understanding would be highly beneficial
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, Databases and IT management tools, e.g. Planning IT, Remedy, ServiceNow
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Proven people leadership experience and ability to drive teams for highly effective delivery leveraging multi-source staffing models including internal and external partners
- Effective communication, presentation and relationship management skills at different levels and in a multicultural environment
- Ability to work effectively in a global organization, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity
- Flexibility: primary work location is Bratislava, local and regional travel for stakeholder meetings is required occasionally
