Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are seeking BI Platform Manager of operations, monitoring, platform support, architectures and roadmaps. You will be responsible for project support and deployments / support release management. Your daily tasks will be to ensure operational efficiency, reliability and cost transparency of the provided service.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and operate a reliable and well performing BI platform service
- Ensure high reliability and cost efficiency of the service provided
- Manage, drive and maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant BI & Analytics Technical architectures and opportunities.
- Coordinate infrastructure needs and planning with IT Infrastructure (ITI)
- Stay connected and aligned with service management concerning customer needs and requirements.
- Plan and communicate professionally and consistently on the service quality
- Apply knowledge of technology trends and company business strategy to drive platform standards, related operating processes and governance (change/configuration management, security)
- Adhere to governance, security and audit standards for the platform
- Maintain platform management related inventory data on infrastructure, resources, budget, customers, etc.
- Ensure and measure a high quality of service, ie. by aligning initiatives and improvements with all other platform managers.
- Support in defining platform requirements, project initiation, assessing & validating the technical architecture of business solutions/applications across multiple platforms to ensure efficient and scalable operations as well as compliance with Company Information Governance
- Support release management of platform components including definition of roadmaps, software release updates, design and ensure the implementation of platform frameworks and design of functional platform extensions
- Manage technical projects (platform upgrades, new technology introduction…): select appropriate processes required to meet the objectives
- Adapt to and apply different delivery approaches (waterfall, Scrum, Lean) and perform, with appropriate support, project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control as well as close a project in accordance with the Project Management Framework and the Company Risk Policy
- Balance the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk to produce the specified product, service, or result.

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Client oriented, team player, flexible, strong communicator
- Higher education in economics, mathematics or computer science
- Understanding of Reinsurance business, including technical accounting and financial accounting
- Experience with systems implementation and operations in larger organisations.
- SAP certifications in BW and/or BPC
- Thorough understanding of the business processes behind financial management and the systems- / application dependencies

KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent knowledge in database concepts and data warehousing concepts
- English: fluent in writing and verbal communication

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics/Statistics and substantial experience in related field
- Business Acumen - Intermediate
- Effective Communications - Intermediate
- Knowledge of Insurance Industry - Intermediate
- Core Application Systems- Intermediate
- System Development Life Cycle - Intermediate
- Business Objects (or similar BI tools)
- Informatica (or similar ETL tools)
- SAP FS-RI (data source system, basic knowledge would be an asset)
