The Business Performance specialist plays an important part in preparing strategic and commercial decisions, in judging financing and investment proposals and in further digitalizing the financial column.

The role
As Business Performance Specialist you are combining a backward looking and a forward looking approach.

Backward looking, you will provide business units and Management Team with clear analyses regarding finance, trends, performance and other relevant indicators. You will provide to Union Management Team, autonomously and proactively, your advice to enhance performance and grow the value of the company. You will report on performance internally and externally on a monthly basis. The role includes some financial control tasks as well, including checks whether figures are correct and consistent.

The forward looking part of the role is focused on business planning. You make sure that ambitions of business units are aligned and gradually translated to detailed plans. You challenge the content and consolidate business unit´s plans to a Rolling Forecast that will need to be approved by the Management Team. The process coordination includes alignment of all involved parties within the business units.
Next to the backward and forward looking roles you will do ad hoc projects, like finance innovation whereby you actively support the Finance department in becoming more digital in terms of reporting and analysis.

Tasks and responsibilities
• Responsible for drafting the monthly management reports and analyzing the financial results of the company and the various business units;
• Responsible for drafting and coordinating the business plan process;
• Preparing and executing the annual budget discussions;
• Drafting divergent financial and business analyses on P&L level and therein supporting the Management Team and Senior Staff;
• Delivering important added value to the decision making process on financial, operational and strategic level, by advising the Management Team and Senior Staff;
• Sparring partner of the Director of Accounting, Planning and Controlling and CFO;
• Participating in diverse projects in which not just financial expertise, but also business and creative ideas are expected.

• 3 to 5 year experience in similar job / environment
