PRESS TOOL MAKERS (STEEL & ALUMINIUM) – UK AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR
WANTED FOR UK BASED AUTOMOTIVE SUPPLIER

The Roles:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, as a Press Tool Maker you will be responsible for producing and maintaining precision press tools, fixtures and gauges. You will ensure that all press tools are designed, maintained, overhauled and repaired ensuring that customer product is processed and despatched as per specification, timing and production output targets.
• Perform corrective and preventative press tool, fixtures and gauge maintenance.
• Be capable of producing small rework tools from finished component drawings.
• Be capable of press tool repairs to laid down requirements on single operation tools, transfer tools and progression tools.
• Be capable of Refurbishing weld fixtures.
• Identify cost effective tool maintenance to reduce/eliminate tool downtime.
• Carry out tool inspection, before and after tool maintenance/repairs.
• Assist Team Leaders with improvements to tooling in order to achieve output targets.
• Work with operators/setters to correct product/tooling defects and resolve problems with jobs that do not meet the required specification.
• Be responsible for making tooling available for production deadlines.
• Maintain all relevant records for development purposes.
• Liaise daily with Engineering Manager on tasks of the day.
• Actively involved in continuous improvement activities on the production lines and on tooling.
• Setting up of the press line to ensure consistent product quality.
• Obtain first off and last off sample quality control.
• Monitoring of production lines ensuring efficient run rates and identifying possible improvements.
• Compile end of run tooling reports, identifying any repairs or modifications that may be needed.

90000-1142000 CZK/ £24-30500/ 33200-42100 €
(Dependent on Experience) + 20% SHIFT ALLOWANCE + BENEFITS INCLUDING RELOCATION ASSISTANCE

All work is produced to TS: 16949 standards. Personality requirements and skills

The Ideal Applicants
• City and Guilds (or equivalent EU qualification) and ideally apprentice trained/time served apprentice. Tool making and/ or machining skills are essential. Other engineering qualifications advantageous.
• Press Tool making experience (using Steel and Aluminium) is essential.
• Experience of a tool making role and able to operate relevant machinery where proto-type needs are identified.
• Be capable of interpreting engineering drawings.
• Be able to use all Tool room machinery/equipment for Steel and Aluminium press tool making to a high standard. Capable of assembling/disassembling press tooling.
• Be able to work on your own initiative providing technical support to all production apartments.
• Able to demonstrate self-motivation, initiative and drive.
• Familiar with continuous improvement philosophy and problem solving.
• Must be prepared to work shifts – 3 rotating shift pattern including days, afternoons and nights up to 39 hours per week.
• Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• A good standard of general education with proven written and verbal communication skills.
• A team player with a detailed and accurate approach to all aspects of the job role.
• Working knowledge of good manufacturing practice, quality procedures and controls within the manufacturing environment.
