Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Head of Marketing and Strategy will be responsible for shaping the in-market strategic direction (portfolio, brand and consumer), in alignment with headquarters guidelines. He/She will lead the development of Consumer & Trade Marketing elements of annual / strategic plan and will own annual investment allocations (marketing related). He/She will be responsible for integrating, driving and maximizing activities related to in-market consumer, brand equity and market intelligence. He/She will work close with the sales department in order to ensure integrated initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the development of the brand portfolio, pricing strategies based on HQ guidelines, best practices and market dynamics in order to maximize brand performance and ROI, monitoring performance and suggesting corrective actions
• Leads development of Consumer & Trade Marketing elements of market annual / strategic plan in conjunction with sales, finance, regional guidelines
• Supervise development of all elements of marketing mix including new product, new packaging, POSM communication to ensure alignment to brand positioning and continuously strengthen brand equity. Drive innovation as appropriate especially to determine new ways to reach consumer. Oversee adaptation of global guidelines in order to suit market specificities.
• In conjunction with HQ research team, global and local agencies, develop and initiate research projects to provide data on consumer needs and profiles, channel and trade characteristics as well as equity the company brands. Ensure continuous follow-up and sound analysis of consumer, shopper, competitive and trade data. Ensure proper allocation to relevant activities. Report trends to country management on a regular basis. Identify new innovative ways to communicate with consumers.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the agencies, brief them clearly and on time to ensure timely and necessary brands ATL / BTL material/activity development and implementation.
• Manage development and production of all brand related materials (POSM, Giveaways, Leaflets, Brochure, etc) in line with global brand guidelines and budget allocated.

Requirements:

• Solid background in strategic planning (Brand portfolio management, pricing, taxation, P&L)
• Good understanding of operational constraints and strong executional reflex
• Knowledge of legislation / taxation, external relations, marketing standards in FMCG industry.
• Experience in preparation of pricing scenarios and analysis, trade terms, margin analysis
• Trade / consumer/distribution/ channel strategy
• Investment resource allocation & brand contribution management
• Finance skills, Brand positioning, Brand communication (ATL / BTL), annual and strategic plan development
• New product launches, Product & packaging development
• Agencies management
• Consumer / trade trends monitoring, Competitive intelligence / assessment
• Market research, Consumer, shopper & trade insight
• Proven people management skills, team player.
• Native Slovak, Very good written and spoken English
• Very good communication skills
