Job description, responsibilities and duties
Currently, we are looking for a Data Analyst (Culture) to support the development of automation to reduce the burden of managing data. As a Data Analyst (Culture), you should be passionate about working with modern technologies, applying principles and patterns, liaising with technical teams to understand and document; business domain models, data schema and data transformations, working on the physical data model and can back this up with significant experience and skill.
Key Tasks:
• Work closely with the Data Culture leads to assist with business requirements for change and new requests.
• Business analysis and data mapping
• Implement data quality rules on behalf of business stakeholders (build required datasets, build DQ rule logic, publish rules and results for business testing, Deploy rules into production)
• Maintain metadata and reference data within tools, ensuring they are up to date
• Contribute to improvements in data management tooling
• Work with Management Information team to ensure that important items are integrated with/published in our data management tool
Experience Required:
• Around 2 to 3 years of experience working as a data or technical business analyst
Your skills, knowledge and experience:
Essential:
• Hands-on experience on data querying and extracting data using SQL
• Technical problem-solving and requirement gathering
• Strong data analysis and mapping skills
• Good data quality or similar level data analysis experience required
• Good communication skills (written and verbal), in particular, able to understand and communicate complex technical issues clearly to a non-technical audience
• Experience in a fast-moving environment, working within context and constraints of a wider Agile project management framework
• Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to effectively report progress and provide transparency to stakeholders
• Good MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, aggregate functions)
Nice to have:
• Technical experience working with metadata management/Data Quality tools (such as Ataccama ONE)
• Innovative with an ability to adapt quickly to new technologies; Snowflake, Ataccama, Atlassian
• API knowledge
• Experience of working within a data-driven organization
• Ability to work as part of a non-hierarchical, dynamic team
• Experience in the commercial insurance industry would be beneficial
• Experience with data visualisation tools (such as PowerBI, Tableau)
