Data Tower Lead

As the Data Tower Lead in the Centre of Excellence, you will be leading a team of passionate data professionals working across a number of different functional areas. Working in partnership with these functions, the responsibilities of the data tower include ensuring data engineering, data management and controls, service delivery and governance throughout our client’s organisation. You will be responsible for supporting a number of different data functions including the engineering, modelling, data quality and data issue management and will foster a culture where data is trusted and at the heart of everything we do.



Key Responsibilities:

• Leading, recruiting and developing a team data of engineers and analysts, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement to deliver a best in class service.
• Overseeing the delivery of data work, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and working within the ‘Report, Fix, Prevent’ strategy
• • Overseeing pro-active data quality management, using data science techniques, and transparent reporting of data quality issues
• Working closely with different onshore data teams including Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Engagement and Data Quality to foster a culture of collaboration and communication around data.
• Liaising with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, communicating the importance of data quality and operational excellence.
• Keeping up to date with the latest technological developments and advising the team and organisation on these developments as needed.


Key Requirements:
• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the Insurance (or Financial Services) sector.
• Strong understanding of data concepts and best practices and experience implementing data strategy
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• High attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Familiarity with data tools like Snowflake, Dataiku, Dbt, Thoughtspot, Power BI and Ataccama would be advantageous.
• Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
• Customer-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Knowledge of tools like Power BI, Snowflake, Dataiku, Ataccama, and JIRA to monitor data quality, manage data-related projects, and raise requests to the Data Team.
