Job description, responsibilities and duties

A Data Warehouse and Business Intelligences Ref. & Master data Solution Manager is responsible for business needs and requirements analysis of DWH and BI solutions, assessing impact within the solution and on other BI solutions and defining, analysing and implementation of Data management processes and workflows (including reference data and meta data management), writing detailed Software Design Specification, providing guidance to developers throughout system implementation, and validating the final product prior to production release.
  • Being a contact person for business users, other solutions and/or project managers
  • Assistance and consultancy to business users and related solutions to define business requirements, development and documentation of complex solution requirements
  • Participation on the DWH and BI releases planning
  • Preparation of Software Design Specification and logical data modelling
  • Supporting development teams to analyse requirements and participation on designing the proper technical solution.
  • Participation on 3rd level support for our operations team.
  • Provision of support to test teams in their work by analysing and solving bugs, helping executing test cases and communicating with the customer
  • Participating on research projects, exploring and evaluating new technologies
  • Creation and maintain proper technical documentation to ensure the quality of the software
  • Organizing team resources, prioritize, assign and monitor individual activities to consistently meet or exceed delivery objectives within designated project time lines.
  • Assuring DWH and BI agreed releases for the solution
  • Provision of direct guideline, assessment and training for junior analysts and/or to lead a small team of analysts
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to provide real solutions for both technical and business related issues associated with the implementation of business intelligence applications.
  • Regular travelling/working in Vienna 3 days per week, 2 days in Bratislava

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Very good analytical skills
  • Several years of experience in DWH and BI solution area, banking and financial institution preferable
  • Experience with Data management – Reference data management and/or Master data management
  • Very good knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (11g and higher)
  • Understanding of one of the Data management tools welcomed: IBM Infosphere suite (especially Information Governance Catalogue) or SAS Dataflux or Ab Initio or Orchestra or Information Builder or other tool supporting RDM/MDM/MtDM
  • Very good data modelling knowledge and utilization of CASE tools ERWIN and Power Designer, Enterprise Architect
  • Data analysis capability
  • Fluent English - both verbal and written communication is precondition
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
