Job description, responsibilities and duties

In this role you will lead two functional teams, a pricing actuarial team that delivers pricing and modelling support on Swiss Re Corporate Solutions P&C and Special Lines business and a data analyst team that manages and perform the start-to-end process of data preparation used for actuarial analysis and modelling work.
As manager of the newly created teams, we look for strong leadership skills required in setting up and developing the teams, in establishing and implementing robust internal standards and procedures and in building and maintaining a strong connection to colleagues globally.
You and your team will be part of ASCS and will work with colleagues in various functions and locations in supporting deal costing and the development and refinement of our costing framework. Corporate Solutions is in a dynamic phase of growth and we are continuously updating our costing models in support of new products and growing markets. Costing, Modelling and Data Analytics

• Model and price deal transactions.
• Run portfolio analysis and develop management reports.
• Development and maintenance of costing parameters and tools in accordance to Swiss Re Group standards and business needs.
• Collect, collate and analyse data required for costing model and parameter update studies.
• Contribute to the training of underwriting communities on technical topics and tool usage.
• Contribute to global projects when needed.

Leadership

• Provide guidance and oversight to the team on internal processes and procedures in adherence to internal guidelines and best practice.
• Coach and lead junior actuaries and analysts and take responsibility for the successful outcome of team member's output.
• Attract, recruit, retain and develop team members to create a strong and high quality talent pool.
• Identify, develop and implement process improvements.

About the team:
With a direct line reporting into the Head of Actuarial Services Corporate Solutions (ASCS) Global Specialties, EMEA and APAC, you will be part of a global team and will work with colleagues across various locations to support the Unit's overall mandate of providing Actuarial and costing support for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Professional experience

• At least 10 years working experience with at least 5 years in P&C Commercial Insurance pricing and modelling. Experience in Primary International Business would be a plus.
• Proven record of leading and developing high performing teams.
• Working experience in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.
• Project management experience and proven ability to deal with multiple stakeholders is a plus.
• Experience in managing a data team would be an advantage.

Technical skills

• Solid know how of commercial insurance products and pricing.
• Strong ability to review analytical results, derive recommendations and communicate implications to all stakeholders.
• Able to challenge assumptions, methods and conclusions.
• Understands actuarial models, business processes, can evaluate accuracy and uncertainty in models
• Proven ability to work with teams in other locations.
• Programming skills will be an advantage.

Educational experience

• Actuarial qualifications or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics or equivalent quantitative fields.

Language skills

• Excellent command of the English language and German/French/Italian would be a plus
