The Corporate Solutions Cost Controlling team leads the business unit's effort on non-technical expense planning, projection, and reporting, while also serving as a port-of-call for many expense related topics. We deliver timely and accurate information on cost development against targets in effort to hold teams accountable to budget and enable senior management to better steer the business.

The Cost Controlling Team is looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in working in a demanding and changing environment.

The position will enable the holder to gain in depth knowledge about administrative expenses at Swiss Re as well as the Corporate Solutions approach to allocate expenses to beneficiaries in an equitable manner.

This position offers a unique opportunity to interact with all areas of Corporate Solutions.

This position will support Corporate Solutions Cost Controlling in all matters that relate to the allocation and distribution of Corporate Solutions non-technical expenses to service beneficiaries.

Core tasks include:

• Own the maintenance of Corporate Solutions allocation keys and service catalogue updates necessary to enable Service Cost Accounting as part of a centralized effort to ensure a consistent and equitable distribution of administrative costs
• Responsible for reviewing and disseminating Service Cost Accounting results on a re-occurring basis to a wide range of recipients across the business unit
• Support in projects and initiatives focused on developing and reviewing existing and future views on the distribution of costs
• Manage and align large amounts of cost relevant data with a view towards continuous optimization of processes and provision of relevant information to support managerial decision-making
• Encourage the business to utilize the cost transparency provided through Service Cost Accounting to actively challenge our service providers on methodologies implemented to share costs and the value for the services received compared to the cost
• The ability to perform the above tasks with a high degree of autonomy, while leveraging on and working closely with all relevant stakeholders.

Requirements for the employee

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Educational/Professional
o University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics
o Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience (Cost Controlling / Cost Management / Financial Analysis)

Key skills and knowledge
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines and manage details without losing site of the "big picture"
o Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience. Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently
o Capable of building trust with all areas of the business
o Agile and flexible, ability to operate within a changing environment. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize
o Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
o Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
o Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
o Ability to manage details without losing sight of the "big picture"
o Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
