About the Team

The Functional Management squad in Asset Management IT area is solely managing all financial related matters for the unit - from cost controlling, budgeting, reporting, communication with procurement and sourcing to administrative tasks vital for processing of invoices. We ensure the run of the department is smooth and efficient!

About The Role

You will focus on and be responsible for supporting all of the financial aspects of the Asset Management IT (AMIT) department! Your will perform cost controlling and be a key contact point for the financial topics.

In Particular, The Role Involves:
- Maintaining and coordinating the department's budget and supporting its preparation, with a focus on IT relevant items - software, outsourcing and IT contractors.
- Tracking actuals and reconciling the spend and budgeted amounts
- Creating purchase orders, processing and approving invoices - making sure they are correct before handing them over for processing
- Preparation of monthly accruals
- Preparing spending reports for various reporting needs
- Communication with Product Owners and management regarding their planned projects and items requiring financing.
- Collaboration with internal departments of Swiss Re to ensure timely processing of documentation.
- Coordination with vendors to ensure accurate administrative details.
- Other relevant tasks if and when required.

About You

- Are you a 'number cruncher'? Do you like working with numbers and data?
- High School or university education in finance, economics or accounting
- Ideally a practical work experience in area of cost controlling
- You understand basic accounting principles, you know what accruals are
- Proficiency in MS Excel, attention to details, ability to analyze data and switch from a high level to a detailed view quickly
- You are interested in the area of IT and you want to explore this topic further - you don't shy away from terms like 'cloud', 'big data', 'technology', 'platforms', etc.
- Experience with automation or simplification is a plus - macros, workflow tools, etc.
- Ability to learn fast and understand new topics, adapt to new processes
- Strong communication and good command of English (both verbal and written),
- Flexible and open to new insights
