Job description, responsibilities and duties

The candidate will join a team of six professional communicators with a diversity of backgrounds located in Zurich, London and Munich. The team works closely with the business leaders of our key markets across the EMEA region in the planning and execution of the communications strategy. We work in a hectic, fast-paced environment that requires client-focus, interest in understanding the business we support, a great deal of creativity, and a team spirit.
As Communications lead for Slovakia, you will be responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communications programmes supporting our rapidly expanding operation in Bratislava.

The candidate will drive employer brand efforts to help attract and retain talent, as well as implement external engagement strategies targeting universities and professional associations. You will also help raise our brand visibility, drive effective media and PR activities and foster employee engagement through internal and leadership communications.

The successful candidate will serve as member of Regional Communications Centre EMEA team and will work closely with the local management team, as well as colleagues in Group Communications.

The Communications Manager Slovakia:

• Enhances Swiss Re's brand locally
• Generates content supporting branding and PR activities (gathering, coordinating input, editing, writing, managing internal/external agencies, etc.)
• Develops employer brand messaging aligned with Swiss Re's Employee Value Proposition
• Raises brand visibility through targeted channels
• Builds and maintains solid relationships with media in close collaboration with Group Media Relations
• Identifies and leverages relevant engagement platforms
• Develops and executes traditional and social media plans
• Reflects Swiss Re's brand attributes and visual/verbal style across all touch points
• Acts as brand consultant to ensure compliance with brand guidelines
• Ensures budgets and KPIs are set, met and evaluated

Internal Communications
• Steers high impact communication initiatives
• Develops and implements integrated communication strategies and messages
• Provides dedicated, timely communications support to Senior Management
• Defines and implements an effective mix of communications tools and measures
• Establishes guidance on communication principles and best practices
• Mitigates the risk of information overflow
• Assists in fostering employee alignment, loyalty and performance
• Helps stakeholders understand and support business strategies
• Facilitates change management efforts

Requirements for the employee

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

• A Bachelor degree
• 8 years of professional experience in branding, PR and/or events
• Outstanding English and Slovak oral and writing skills
• Working experience in Slovakia, preferably with a multinational company
• Deep cross-cultural understanding
• Exceptional influencing/networking capabilities
• A creative mindset
• Strong planning/project management capability
• Solid knowledge in deploying social media and new tools
• A healthy level of attention to detail
• Local knowledge of key agencies and associations in Slovakia
• Practice in Global Services Offices, financial services or B2B
• Excellent MS Office skills
