Job description, responsibilities and duties
Embedded in the ReInsurance Cost Management team, the Allocation team manages and coordinates the cost distribution and allocation processes within Reinsurance for all financial scenarios.
We represent the Reinsurance Business Unit vis-à-vis the Group and the partner Business Units when it comes to agreeing sharing costs via allocations. Our core clients are the ReInsurance COO and the ReInsurance Divisions represented by their Divisional Operating Officers. Furthermore, we partner with central Strategic Cost Management, Group Finance and other teams within the broader ReInsurance FP&A team.
We want to leverage your analytical and controlling skills to ensure consistency in allocation methodologies as applied by multiple stakeholders. You will be successful by managing the reference data sets to allow them starting from an identical base, by supporting them in a project to harmonize methodologies and, ultimately by acting as a gatekeeper in controlling the results of the allocations.
Your technical skills will enable you to take ownership of the production and its automation of our Allocations analysis. You are or will become an expert in SAP Cost Transparency with regards to managing, analyzing and reporting allocations.
The combination of your solid understanding of the complex mechanics of a multiple-sequence allocation process and your excellent communication skills will allow you to provide added value to strengthen the qualitative aspects of our cost reports and analyses.
Your main tasks will be:
• Act as a technical gatekeeper of allocations results within ReInsurance for each scenario such as Actuals, Projections and Planning
• Support in a project to harmonize allocation methodologies and to further increase cost transparency
• Own the Full Cost reporting package which includes quarterly reports for several Management Committees and further stakeholders and seek for automation of this reporting
• Seek for automation of the reporting package
• Actively support the ReInsurance planning process, especially the headcount and workplace plan
• Perform value added analysis to enhance transparency and to create productivity
• Execute ad hoc requests from Management
• Become an expert in the multiple systems being leveraged for allocations (e.g. Excel, SAP, Apptio)

Information about the selection process
• University degree
• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in Allocations and/ or Cost Management
• Strong technical background and solid experience with reporting and allocation systems
• Advanced MS Excel and Access skills, SAP skills a plus
• Fluent with accounting terminology
• Excellent analytical skills paired with good communication skills
• Fluent in English, German a plus
• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in Allocations and/ or Cost Management
• Strong technical background and solid experience with reporting and allocation systems
