Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
In this role you will support the unit responsible for the maintenance, enhancement and rollout of our reinsurance Planning and Early Reporting (PER) tool for property and casualty business, which produces the interim and year end closings based on USGAAP principles.
You are willing to grow into an important role in the business analysis team which members are currently exclusively based in Zurich. Therefore you will have significant interaction with Zurich but also with US, UK, Asia and Bratislava finance & IT colleagues and will be involved in global projects dealing with the rollout of and enhancements to the financial applications architecture. You will work in projects but also support production. The project work will focus on the data integration, design and development of new interfaces and functions, as well as the support and monitoring of data migration processes and the data reconciliation. On the production side the main tasks will be to support the quarterly closing with special processes and to secure the daily data processing. You will be involved in all steps of a project and the production control and you will be assigned own sub-projects which you will manage independently.
Your job will include :
Business analysis of new requirements for new IT implementations and change request for existing IT-solutions
• Gather, discuss and analyse the requirements for new interfaces or functions in close cooperation with business experts and IT
• Translate requirements into system specifications, covering all aspects of the new solution
• Work closely with the programmers in the realisation phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
• Perform and document interface and application tests
• Document the solution, both for internal and external use
• Manage assigned sub-projects in above-mentioned fields independently
Business support and production control
• Support financial data migrations into PER in close cooperation with other migration teams and the responsible finance representatives
• Monitoring and maintenance of interfaces and data migration processes
• Perform data migrations and clean ups
• Perform System reconciliation and data quality checks
• Support the quarterly closing by executing special processes

• Good knowledge in accounting
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SQL is a strong asset for this position
• Self-starter, independent and responsive in character and work
• Stamina and the drive to get things done
• Aware of cultural differences and able to overcome them
• Excellent team player attributes combined with a proactive approach and a 'can do' attitude
• Good command of English; German would be an advantage
