Job description, responsibilities and duties

- Monitor search statistics, search logs, and user feedback related to search service quality on a regular basis
- Initiate and coordinate with developers the implementation of new or improved features or changes to the search engine configuration
- Manage the featured results / promoted links, query suggestions, synonyms, thesaurus, relevancy and ranking models
- Educate content providers in how to publish content to make it findable
- Ideally you provide internal consultancy for index optimization, search engine tuning, and improving the usability of the search user interface

You will work in a unit with the vision to enable better performance of Swiss Re through more efficient and effective usage of information.
Your highly international team provides shared solutions and services that cover a wide range of fundamental content and information management capabilities. For various internal customers the team provides solutions for capturing, creation, storing, retrieving, tracking, versioning, annotating, transforming, generating, and discovery of mainly unstructured information (content).
In this position you will be responsible for continuously improving the quality of our central information finding service that supports knowledge workers in finding information that is relevant for achieving their business goals. You will monitor the user behavior and preferences by analyzing statistics, search logs, and user feedback. Based on these insights you provide users with feedback or initiate and coordinate the implementation of changes to search engine configuration for an enhanced search experience.
The technical platform for the search service is mainly the Microsoft SharePoint Search.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- English a must, German a plus
- Service Management
- Experience with search technology
- SharePoint search know how is a plus
- Proactive and service oriented attitude
- Very good communication skills
- Recognize, appreciate, and adapt to differences across organizational and geographic borders
- Understand complex technology stacks and their dependencies
