Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a Team Leader within Learning, you lead, coach and develop a team of Learning Consultants and/or Learning Specialists.

This position will encompass the local adaptation and deployment of Leadership effectiveness and Learning initiatives and will involve being an inspiring leader with strong people development skills, an impressive influencer and a credible subject matter expert.

You furthermore act as the subject matter expert creating relevant learning and development initiatives and interventions as well as content to satisfy business growth and effective development of Swiss Re experts. You collaborate closely with the OE Consultants to identify core business and learning needs of the organization and design together with the business new (in-house) offerings and training materials. Where required you act as internal trainer.
Main Tasks:
• Owning the Learning agenda for the location, working on the full learning cycle and liaising with third party suppliers as required
• Together with OE Consulting and the global Learning unit secure solid understanding of core business objectives, requirements and challenges
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure the company’s Learning strategy is aligned to wider business goals
• Working closely with the wider OE and HR teams to embed a progressive learning approach within the business
• Through detailed learning needs analysis with and in the business, identify and summarize competency gaps and what learning interventions can enable the closing of these gaps
• Inform the budgeting process and steer training initiatives which form part of Group programmes
• Design and develop new (in-house) offerings and training materials in partnership with internal experts
• Act as scout for external and /or internal providers, conduct search, negotiate and select state of the art vendors and trainers
• Define together with the OE Consultants and business challenging and effective KPIs to ensure high quality of each delivery
• Develop and run training pilots and deliver training if expertise and work-mix allows
• Prepare and run feedback sessions with trainers in coordination with Learning Specialists

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

Learning Mastery
• 7 to10 years of experience in Learning & Development or Organization Effectiveness space, ideally complemented by experience in business consulting
• Typically with a University degree or equivalent in Business Administration / Economics / Human Resources
• Profound knowledge of HR and Organizational Effectiveness products, processes and practices
• Solid IT user skills (MS Office/Lotus Notes/SAP/Knowledge platforms)

Business Mastery
• Deep knowledge of the Financial Services industry and key drivers of success
• Speak the financial and operative language of the business. Excellent command of spoken and written English, additional languages is an advantage
• Experienced working in an integrated and winning way with the business' agenda and including various stakeholders
• Experienced to work in a global matrix organization and a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Ability to work in an ambiguous environment that requires risk awareness
• Strong execution and result focus
