Job description, responsibilities and duties

IT Planning & Controlling department supports the Group Information Officer (GIO) in managing and controlling the IT function of Swiss Re. The department owns and drives the management processes of IT including strategy, service costing, financial planning and controlling as well as performance and quality management topics.

The IT Controlling Operations unit, as part of the IT Planning & Controlling department, is responsible for operational controlling tasks for the entire Division IT.

The role will be primarily in IT Controlling Operations but might grow beyond this area.

- Primary contact for standard reporting within the entire Division IT (monthly expense report, ERT report, etc.)
- Support yearly and quarterly financial planning and controlling processes of Division IT
- Allocation of purchase orders (PO) & bookings to budget items on a monthly basis
- Creation of POs for IT expenses based on requests from cost centre responsibles
- Supporting the quarterly IT accrual process in close cooperation with Finance and IT Procurement
- Preparation and processing of reclassification bookings for Division IT
- T&E reporting & travel statistics
- Supporting divisional reporting / KPI reporting / Ad Hoc Reporting

Requirements for the employee

Personality requirements and skills

Degree in economic studies OR strong work experience in a related topic with 2 years practical experience working within IT, Finance or Sourcing environment.

- Approaching problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, team-player but know how to work independently.
- Fast learner showing a high degree of own initiative and the ability to readily adapt to different ways of doing things is expected along with a proven ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture are essential.
- Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, etc.), VBA is a plus
- Fluency in English language needed
