Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for an application manager with solid experience in managing projects within IT. This role will be based in our Bratislava office. The candidate brings a high level of verbal and written communications skills in order to collaborate with your IT colleagues and business stakeholder. You will manage applications using well defined ITIL based processes. Your goal will be to ensure the availability, smooth performance and quality of applications (including 3rd party, externally hosted and in house developed) based on a range of different technologies.
Acting as Release Manager you will be responsible for coordinating development, testing, deployment, and provision of documentation. You will deliver application releases and will identify and drive technical improvements within your area of responsibility.
In a heavily outsourced IT environment, you will manage offshore and near shore developers and take responsibility for the quality of their delivered work. You will also bring a continuous improvement mindset to the job contributing to the ongoing development of internal processes.

Your activities will cover:
- Development lifecycle phases (application releases and maintenance projects) to production induction and support
- Facilitate the business requirements gathering sessions
- Assure the information is captured/documented as Change Request out from the business requirements gathering sessions.
- Analyze business requirements comprehensively together with the customer, verify the underlying business need and identify potential solution options
- Support Testing Team in transforming the business requirements into test cases
- Quality assurance of all vendor deliverables – from solution design, technical design, technical delivery till the solution and operations documentation

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

We are looking for a person with strong analytical skills and basic IT knowledge. Furthermore:
- A Bachelor/Master degree in an economic or IT related field
- At least 2-3 years working experience as a Java developer or SAP(ABAP) developer
- Experience/background of technical design and implementation of a client server application (frontend and backend functionality) incl. database design
- Understanding of financial markets and products
- Motivated and eager to broaden the know-ledge within the IT Operations domain
- Strong communication skills - Fluent in English (minimum B2/C1)
- Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, prioritising, and delegating packages of work. Certification (eg PMP) an advantage
- Good understanding of ITIL framework (certification an advantage)
- A well rounded individual, bringing high quality stakeholder management and communication skills, a decisive and autonomous working style, and a clear focus on delivering results
