Job description, responsibilities and duties

General Accountability:
The Corporate Solutions Carrier Analytics Team is responsible for supporting the European carrier reporting teams with analysis, reports and accounting support according to Swiss and Luxembourg statutory accounting policies, and economic valuation principles for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd and Swiss Re International SE. As a member of our team, you support us in the closing activities, the preparation and reporting of the quarterly financial statements in accordance with the generally accepted accounting policies in Switzerland and Luxembourg, other regulatory reporting and any ad hoc reporting requests. You provide comprehensive analysis and commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to the management requirements. Further you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.
Main Tasks
1. Support quarterly closing process by performing general ledger entries and reconciliation
2. Contribute to the preparation of the quarterly financial statements and regulatory reporting in accordance with the generally accepted accounting policies in Luxembourg as well as quarterly projections for the Luxembourg based Swiss Re International SE
3. Provide comprehensive analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements
4. Support the reconciliation process between statutory and group accounting principles
5. Prepare timely and accurate data for internal and external reporting
6. Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements
7. Support audit activities and prepare documentation and information in connection with external and internal audit and other external parties, like regulators or other governmental institutions
8. Participate in relevant Finance projects
9. Perform ad hoc tasks as required

Information about the selection process

1. Three years or more of work experience in the financial services industry (insurance / reinsurance business desirable)
2. Qualification in Accounting, Audit and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
3. Proven history of knowledge regarding the preparation of financial statements / reports
4. Experience in USGAAP/IFRS desirable
5. Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting
6. Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
7. Team player with clear communication skills
8. Engaging and motivating
9. Excellent command of the English language and French as a plus
