Software Tester

What Tester does in SolarWinds:

The Tester will perform quality assurance testing on multiple web properties and collaborate with the Web Test Lead to create test documentation. He/she will perform manual tests on a technical level, document and submit QA issues, and validate resolved issues. The candidate should have strong technical skills and experience in web application testing, including browser compatibility testing. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong sense for detail with the ability to work well within a distributed team.

* Tests one or more products based on test documentation
* Tests on multiple platforms and databases
* Ensures that projects are delivered on time and with high quality
* Participates in preparation of test documentation (write test cases)
* Performs functional, regression, scalability, stress, and performance testing
* Assists customer support with analyzing customer issues and with providing extensive details to the development team
* Works in a small dynamic team with good career opportunities

What is required to succeed in this position:

* Experience with testing commercial software, writing test documentation and test procedures
* Experience with manual testing of SW application under MS Windows and web-based applications
* Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated creativity
* Ability to use English on a daily basis
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

What would be helpful (and we are willing to help with it if needed):

* General knowledge of Testing/Quality Assurance processes and procedures
* Basic DB and SQL skills
* Networking knowledge and experience (SNMP, TCP/IP)
* Basic HTML/XML knowledge
* Basic programming skills in OOP language
