Security Specialist

Security Specialist advises and supervises the business and the ICT organization about information security risks and the techniques to reduce and manage these risks.

Job Description:

  • defines and provides security techniques to enable new business initiatives to be deployed with an acceptable security risks
  • minimize damage to the organization arising from incidents affecting the confidentiality, integrity or availability of information and information systems
  • manages security processes, e.g. risk management, information classification, logical access control and monitoring, incident management
  • evaluates new threats relating to the security of information and information systems
  • evaluates the effectiveness of the security measures, by taking measurements, performing tests and carrying out random checks
  • evaluate, report and assist in determining the effectiveness of new and currently-deployed security
  • creates and maintains security policies, standards, strategies, risk assessments + risk mitigation actions, investigations, audits and other areas related to security
  • assists the management in crisis situations concerning information security
  • assist in monitoring the compliance to security standards and policy
  • promotes security awareness in the organization (through communication, training, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong desire to enter the field of Information Security
  • Experience with administering complex IT systems with focus on information security systems
  • Credential and Risk management system experience
  • CISA, CISM is an advantage knowledge/skills
  • Entry-level to intermediate IDS/IPS/SIEM/DLP
  • Entry-level to intermediate identity and access management systems
  • Knowledge of common protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, and FTP
  • Understanding of security incident investigation process and information security best practices
  • Basic knowledge of assessing risk and policy development
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Good judgment & decision making, strong situational analysis
  • Ability to work independently and within deadlines
  • Ability to learn new things quickly and prioritize work
