Software Specialist

• Create automated software installations scripts and application virtualization packages following the package request form with customer requirements
• Create custom scripts to fulfill specific requirements
• Perform extensive testing of the created application packages to ensure quality
• Apply customer specific standards and processes
• Update workflow, quality management and work request tools to ensure accurate status reporting of requests
• Document work timely and accurately
• Maintain test environment, including customer specific base OS images
• Troubleshoot application package and virtualization issues
• Remotely assist software distribution and on-site personnel during software deployments

• Excellent problem-solving attitude and technical abilities
• Ability to work in an independent and proactive way
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Installer
• Knowledge of application virtualization with Microsoft App-V and/or Citrix XenApp
• Experience with Windows client OS (versions XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1)
• Scripting knowledge in one or more languages (VBS, DOS batch, PowerShell)
• Technical knowledge in Windows server OS (versions 2003, 2008 and 2012)
• Technical knowledge in application and desktop virtualization using VMware, Citrix and Microsoft App-V
