Network Security Implementation Engineer

Network Security Implementation Engineer implements and then operates network security solutions using technology that includes Firewalls, VPN, Intrusion Detection, Protection and certain proxy solutions. This role forms part of a team of engineers that provide leveraged support to customers out of the HP Delivery Centre in Bratislava.
• Proactively manages and progress all assigned projects ensuring targets are met without intervention.
• Takes ownership for ensuring successful completion of all tasks within the project lifecycle, including handover to operations, reports on progress and flags issues in delivery to avoid escalation.
• Documents all progress to enable alternative resource to take over in the event of any absence.
• Although primarily responsible for projects, provides also support to all operational functions when required to ensure SLAs are met, is available to join and perform an On Call function as business requires.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less skilled team members.
• Implement changes to infrastructure and configurations as required in order to support the environment.
• Represent the team at meetings either with other support groups or even directly with the account and customer.

• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or management information systems,
• Understanding of networking protocols, network topologies and security practices confirmed by Cisco network or equivalent certification
• At least 4 years experience in IT operations and Network operations, 2 years in technical project management
• Ability to multitask and solve problems creatively, ability to meet deadlines
• Responsibility and reliability, ownership for given projects, flexibility to adjust working hours as business demands and to travel when required
