Job description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager with excellent managerial and leading skills which will be applied in the area of construction in Mochovce NPP Project. You will serve as a leader of a group of superintendents responsible for the efficient completion of the assembly works according to the project time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management, supervision and coordination of assembly works;
  • Ensure the quality, the control of the costs within the assigned budget, the efficient completion of the works within the project program and the completing of all contractual items;
  • The Mechanical Construction Manager is the leader of a group of superintendents, each one assigned to a number of erection subcontractors;
  • The Mechanical Construction Manager is responsible for the review and approval of the methodology (Method Statement) and for the strategy of assembly.

General Tasks

  • To manage and coordinate the superintendents to the scope that time schedule, quality and cost are kept. Regular meetings with the superintendents shall be arranged.
  • As soon as there is deviation in time schedule, quality, cost, he should promptly identify the corrective actions in coordination with Civil and Electrical Construction Managers, Engineering, Planning, Site Manager, Project Managers, and promptly implement those corrective actions within his responsibility;
  • To ensure proper coordination with civil, electrical and instrumentation installation;
  • To attend Construction Coordination Meetings;
  • To attend Coordination Meetings with Subcontractors;
  • To attend Planning Coordination Meetings;
  • To agree with Subcontractors changes to the time schedule;
  • To provide regularly and timely to Planning and Project Control the required information for the time schedule and budget update;
  • Apply the control of the quality making sure that all the works are performed in compliance with the specifications, norms and standard directives for quality and the contractual obligations;
  • To ensure that requirements in the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are fulfilled, and erection Quality documentation is produced by Subcontractors as the erection progresses;
  • Responsible for the safety of the personnel on the project, ensuring the application of the company’s safety norms, the local normative and regulations with the support of the Safety responsible of the project;
  • To ensure that the last revision of the designs issued for construction is always used;
  • Issue requests for Extra Works (to be paid under Time related charges) and issue Reports of Non Conformity (NCR) relative to his work purpose;
  • To call meetings with Engineering, Project Managers (PMs), Subcontractors as required for resolution of technical issues, e.g. resolution of an NCR (Non Conformity Report);
  • To ensure timely mechanical completion and smooth handing over of mechanical systems to pre-commissioning (for flushing activities) and to Commissioning, including the related documentation;
  • Ensure that punch items are attended timely after Turn Over to Commissioning;
  • Responsible to communicate all the encountered extra-costs;
  • To ensure the preparation on time of the copies of updated design, necessary for the execution of the designs “As Built”;
  • To ensure the timely and proper uploading in the site log book of all the main facts, encountered problems, instructions of the Client, delay of the program, working hours, meteorological conditions, which will represent the active support in case of active/passive claims;
  • Make sure that that the monthly progresses of the Sub-contractors are accurately controlled and approved for the payment;
  • Make sure that the made experiences are registered (Lessons learned - Constructability;
  • The Mechanical Construction Manager has authority for following tasks:
o In compliance with the Ethic Code of SE and with the instructions, limits and regulations of SE
o Must receive all the necessary documents to carry out his work
o Must receive all the necessary resources to carry out his work
o The job holder can modify the sequences for programmed work, in compliance with the Superintendents, the Planner and the Site manager
o To issue instructions to his subordinated;
o Right to stop the works if the personnel are in danger and the work is not carried out in compliance with the specifications.

We are looking for Mechanical Construction Manager for the company SE Služby inžinierskych stavieb, s.r.o., (shortly SE SIS). SE SIS is a subsidiary of Slovenské elektrárne, established in August 2015 and with its registered seat in Mochovce, Nitra region.

The purpose of its establishment is to be more efficient in management of engineering, construction and commissioning activities in order to support Mochovce 3&4 nuclear power plant construction project, by means of experienced and highly qualified professionals with required technical knowledge, skills, diligence and attitude necessary to complete the project following all applicable laws and regulations.

The main goal is to contribute to the successful completion of Mochovce 3&4 project.
