Job description, responsibilities and duties

For our Local Accounting team we are searching for a leading Chief Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility and preparation of statutory financial statements
• Preparation of individual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS/EU
• Preparation and review of financial statements of affiliated companies according to Slovak accounting regulation
• Reporting to Slovak statistical office and national bank
• Monthly, quarterly and annual group closings
• Perform assigned activities to support monthly, quarterly and annual group closings (e.g. payroll postings reconciliation, recording of personnel accruals)
• Active daily cooperation with accounting hub governance and transactional centres to ensure timely and correct group reporting
• Statutory accounting methodology and guidelines
• Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations
• Active leading or support of project activities (e.g. M&A activities)
• Manage team of two accountants

Required education, skills and personality requirements

Required education
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Educational Specialization
accounting, audit, corporate finance

Personality requirements and skills
Professional Expertise:
- University degree in Accounting, Corporate Finance or Corporate Economy
- Solid knowledge of Slovak statutory accounting regulations and IFRS
- Understand financial statements and their interrelations (P/L, B/S and Cash Flow Statement)
- Min. 5 years experience in accounting
- Language skills: English - must, German – advantage
- IT skills: SAP - advanced, Excel – advanced,
