Job description, responsibilities and duties

Capability Definition

Applies DNS - DDI subject matter knowledge to solve complex business
requirements and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Uses consulting skills
including questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport and
subject matter influencing to accomplish project tasks. Capable of consulting,
designing, testing, implementing, managing capability requirements into the
system using HP methodology. Able to integrate custom software components into
the environment and provide third level production infrastructure support.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing technical solution to the client, in accordance with an
agreed architectural standard
• Responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions
• Responsible for client/account interactions as required
• Responsible for producing part or all of the technical solution for complex
leveraged environment supporting all ES accounts/clients, in accordance with an
agreed technical design
• Responsible to make sure that the project deliverable is completed accurately
and on time
• Responsible for escalating the issues, problems, risks, and constraints to the
appropriate parties for clarification and resolution
• Responsible for Design and engineer custom Infrastructure solutions based on
various security products and services
• Responsible for communication with the Lead Engineer and account/client
• Responsible for the engineering of end to end solutions as required
• Responsible for keeping abreast of new/emerging technology
• Responsible for design, development, implementation using the Global
Engineering specifications, GE- QMS requirements and methodology, and
practical application of ITIL practices and processes

Personality requirements and skills

Education and Experience Required
Required:

• Understand IP Networks concepts (LAN, WAN, Security, Internet, IP
Management)
• Excellent knowledge of DNS/DHCP/BOOTP
• Knowledge of IP management tools (VitalQIP, Infoblox, BlueCat, Efficient IP)
• Good Technical expertise in Linux/Unix and Windows system administration
• Advanced experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting and automation
• Familiar with ITIL practices
• Understanding of CMDB concept
• Skills to write technical documentation

Technical Skills

• To improve operational processes by implementing, integrating DNS/DHCP and IP
management solutions
• Provide support on existing DNS/DHCP/IP mgmt infrastructure
• Coordinate rollout and transformations of customer’s DNS/DHCP/IP mgmt
environment & solutions
• Train operational & engineering teams for processes and best practices
• Ensure documentation is up to date
• Ensure Process are followed according to standard
• Implement process optimization
• Proactively propose improvements towards higher efficiency and stability
• Contribute to tools roadmap and strategy using latest technology
